Join the Museum of Oxford’s Youth Panel to develop new skills, work with a variety of people, and help to create, plan, and run events.

What is the Youth Panel?

The Youth Panel allows 16-30 year olds to decide what the Museum does for young people in the city, with a focus on creating events for young people by young people. Previous events include gigs in the Town Hall, an online cabaret featuring local performers, and a Cold War event with a themed escape room.

By joining our Youth Panel, you will:

  • Gain experience in marketing and event planning 🎊
  • Develop new skills to add to your CV/meet DofE volunteering requirements 🏅
  • Work with other young people 💭
  • Work with arts and heritage professionals 🏛️
  • Make new friends and have fun 💥
  • Contribute ideas to make the Museum more youth-friendly 🎉

In return, we want our members to be:

  • Reliable and committed to the group
  • Motivated to make a difference in the community
  • Interested in Oxford’s past, present and future

The Youth Panel meets on the first Tuesday evening of the month on Zoom.

Travel expenses are covered and snacks are provided when we meet in-person.

“For me, joining Youth Panel was a way to contribute my skills as a young professional while learning about how museums work. I’ve always loved hearing stories and believe it’s so important to tell those of young and ethnically diverse groups.”
