Discover life in Anglo-Saxon Oxford with objects and craft this half term.
Come to the Museum of Oxford in the Town Hall to immerse yourself in Anglo-Saxon Oxford. Families can try on costumes, handle tools and wield weapons (both replica and original) to understand more about what life was like for people living all those years ago. On top of this, families can make their own jewellery and design a battle shield inspired by the Anglo-Saxon items we have in the Museum.
Our Anglo-Saxon object handling and craft session runs between 11am and 3pm on the 24th Feb in the Museum of Oxford in Oxford Town Hall. Activities are aimed at children aged 4 to 11 years old. All children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times. You can just drop in between these times but we encourage you to book a timed ticket in advance to avoid disappointment. This event is free but we encourage donations to the Museum on the day to help us run services for the community. Contact the Museum for more information.
