Role description
The Museum of Oxford is looking to appoint an experienced evaluation consultant to undertake the evaluation of the Sounds of the City project, funded by Arts Council England.
Sounds of the City aims to develop the creative skills of Oxford’s young people in partnership with the city’s music industry. Using an exhibition showcasing Oxford’s music heritage as a creative springboard, young people will explore music in collaboration with today’s music-makers. The project also involves a public programme featuring several music-based events, through which the Museum hopes to bring in new and familiar audiences to our spaces and encourage deeper conversations about local music memories.
The role of the Evaluation Consultant will be to provide a framework for evaluation of the exhibition and activity programme funded by Arts Council England to include different methods to collect quantitative and qualitative feedback, and appropriate methodology for the specific target audiences of the programme. The consultant will be expected to analyse the results at the end of the project and to produce an evaluation report summarising successes, lessons learnt and recommendations for further audience and project development.
We expect the service commissioned to begin by the beginning of September 2026 and be completed by the end of March 2027.
