How to find us

The Museum of Oxford is located inside Oxford Town Hall, a beautiful Victorian building on St Aldates, right in the centre of Oxford.

Our address is: Museum of Oxford, Oxford Town Hall, St Aldates, Oxford, OX1 1BX.

Finding us from the Town Hall’s main entrance

The main entrance to the Town Hall is located on St Aldates. It has a flight of 8 stone steps which lead to the entrance foyer. From the entrance foyer, turn right and you’ll find the entrance to the Museum.

Finding us from the Town Hall’s step-free accessible entrance

The step-free accessible entrance to the Town Hall is located on St Aldates opposite Sainsbury’s. If you’re facing the main entrance to the Town Hall, the level entrance will be on your left and further up the street.

There is a ramped/sloped access at this entrance and a set of double doors that open automatically towards you. Inside, there is a second set of doors with an intercom (102cm high). Use the intercom to speak to a member of staff. Let them know that you’re visiting the Museum, and they will open the doors for you. There is a third set of doors that open automatically towards you via a push pad. Follow the corridor to arrive at the Town Hall reception. The entrance to the Museum will be straight ahead of you!

If you’d like to know more about access at the museum, please visit our access page.
