This is event is part of the Festival of Archaeology.

Ever wondered what an archaeologist does? Unearth the past with MOX at our awesome Archaeology Family Day and have a go at the skills real-life archaeologists use everyday.

Grab an Awesome Archaeology checklist from the MOX Families team and have a go at all the activity stations to earn your certificate and sticker. You will try handling real-life artefacts, exploring our dig pit, and practicing skills of observation, comparison and critical thinking!

This activity takes place across both our gallery spaces and in the Museum Makers. Meet us in the Museum Makers to get started! The activity stations will run between 11.00 and 13.00.

This is a free, drop-in event and suitable for families with children aged 5-12, but all ages are welcome. Booking is not required but due to limited capacity, you may have a short wait to take part in some activities. We welcome donations to support future family activities.
