Children aged 9+ and their families are invited to see artwork at the Museum of Oxford in a whole new light this February half term. Art School… in a trail! is a spotter trail from Kids in Museums and Hachette, celebrating the release of Art School (in a book), an exciting introduction to the world of contemporary art for young creatives from the makers of hit podcast Talk Art, actor Russell Tovey and gallerist Robert Diament.
Enjoy a traditional museum and gallery spotter trail with a fun twist – each stop unlocks a creative mission designed to help you look at and chat about the artwork in the museum collections in fun new ways. Complete the activity sheet to receive your Art School sticker!
There’s also a special drawing competition. Share your artwork on Instagram or BlueSky with the hashtag #ArtSchoolTrail and tag @kidsinmuseums for a chance to win some fantastic prizes, including a Double National Art Pass Plus Kids and a signed copy of Art School (in a book)!
This is a drop-in activity with no need to book, available from Saturday 14 February to Saturday 21 February during museum opening times. Included with museum entry.

Access
There is step-free, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax Tower (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then a lift to the basement.
Accessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor, before entering the Museum. Please contact the Museum team if you’d like to talk to a member of staff about your access requirements. Further access information can be found on our page dedicated to access at the museum.
Scaffolding at the Oxford Town Hall
From August 2025, scaffolding will be in place outside Oxford Town Hall. Both entrances to the Town Hall (main steps and level access entrance) will remain fully open and accessible while these essential maintenance works are carried out. More information can be found on our Plan Your Visit page.
