This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AAA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Text contrast
- Some text does not have a very high contrast ratio. This fails the WCAG 2.0 AAA success criterion 1.4.6
We are satisfied that current text contrast ratios pass WCAG 2.2 AA standards and will not be pursuing WCAG 2.2 AAA in this area at the current time.
Navigation and accessing information
- Some pages may not be able to be accessed in multiple ways. This fails the WCAG 2.0 AA success criterion 2.4.5
We are working to ensure all pages can be accessed in multiple ways and this should be complete by week commencing 11th November 2024.
PDF documents are not accessible
- Long PDF documents do not use bookmarks to aid navigation. This fails the WCAG 2.0 AA success criterion 2.4.5
- Some PDF documents do not specify a default language. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 3.1.1
- Some PDF documents do not have headings specified. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 1.3.1
- Some PDF documents cannot be read by screen readers. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 1.1.1
- Some PDF documents do not have titles. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 2.4.2
- Some PDF documents do not have a sufficient text contrast ratio. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 1.4.3
- Some PDF documents contain content which is not in a meaningful sequence. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 1.3.2
- Some PDF documents are not tagged. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 1.3.1
We plan to remedy the above issues with PDF documents by April 2025.
Disproportionate burden
Issues with third party element labels and IDs
- Some labels within the GDPR Cookie Consent plugin (third party) may not point to valid IDs. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 1.3.1
- Some table headings within the GDPR Cookie Consent plugin (third party) do not contain a ‘scope’. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 1.3.1
- Some element IDs are duplicated within the GDPR Cookie Consent plugin (third party) and The Events Calendar plugin (third party). This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 4.1.1

- Some links within the SmashBalloon Instagram Feed plugin (third party) cannot be read by screen readers. This fails the WCAG 2.0 A success criterion 4.1.2
